In an attempt to allow more people of low-income groups to benefit from the Naya Pakistan Housing Program (NPHP), the government is simplifying necessary procedures for the scheme.
The application process has been made simpler. The application forms require only basic details such as name, ID card number, father's name, and billing address. The forms will be further evaluated by banks for details of bills and expenses of the applicants.
The new policy widens the eligibility pool for the scheme, as per an official, people of low-income groups will not have to take extensive measures to satisfy the banks, as most of these people work in fields where adequate documentation is simply not available.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan is keeping a close watch on developments in the NPHP. State Bank and Federal Bureau of Revenue are consulting with real estate dealers and builders on the matter too.
